Colored Tuxedos Only for Certain Occasions
Black or midnight blue is the usual color of the tuxedos. However commonplace it is to wear a black tuxedo, yet it is still a charming color that men swear by. Then again, there is the white tuxedo, which, although rarer than black, yet is worn by many men on different occasions. In fact a white tuxedo jacket can also be paired with black trousers although it is never the other way around. However, some occasions would need colored tuxedos apart from the traditional black, midnight blue or the white. Although not flashy colors, yet pastel shades like blue, gray or green are gradually being experimented by designers to connect the vivacity of a colored outfit to the grave smartness of a tuxedo. This is a crucial choice, that of wearing a colored tuxedo, as it requires only certain special occasions to wear it.
The issue with wearing colored tuxedos, is an issue of breaking the tuxedo norms. Tuxedos have always been men?s unanimous clothing choice for formal and semi formal occasions. It is a strict dress code, so much so, that men do not wear jeans and casual t shirts to formal occasions, or any other attire in that case. Tuxedos and only tuxedos are worn, and that too in the usual color variations of black, white or midnight blue. Now, wearing a colored tuxedo would mean a significant deviation from the established norms of dressing and this deviation is something that would require a certain psychological preparation.
Wearing a colored tuxedo, you would be looking markedly different in a crowd of black and white tuxedos. The extent up to which you can carry forward this distinction of separateness and a colorful individuality would depend on your psychological preparation about the occasion. If the reason for wearing a colored tuxedo is strong enough, (like color coordinating with your prom date), then you should definitely be wearing a colored tuxedo. But if you are feeling that colored tuxedos are not your thing, then you should be sticking to the basics of black or white tuxedo. Again, there are some special occasions like the St. Patrick?s Day, when wearing a green tuxedo is not considered out of taste or fashion. In order toprepare for such occasions, you should definitely have an assortment of colored tuxedos in your wardrobe.
colored tuxedos can also be worn with ease in family occasions and gatherings like weddings, birthday parties, anniversary celebrations etc. As you feel comfortable with your friends and family, you feel comfortable to show the happiness of your mind by wearing a colored tuxedo. Wearing a formal black tie attire to a birthday party, which is a flexible formal event, seems somewhat too grave to match with the light happiness of a birthday celebration. Not to say that black/white tuxedos are not ok in birthday parties and anniversaries, but you can definitely try out the colored ones for such occasions. It is eventually your choice to make which tuxedo would you be wearing.
